Exhibition concepts

Developing (international) exhibition concepts is a prime means of giving concrete expression to the Foundation’s objective.

As former chief curator of the Drents Museum in Assen, the chairman used to head a team of internationally operating archaeologists, art historians and historians. He was directly involved in several large and smaller international exhibitions.

An example of a large international exhibition is ‘The Mysterious Bog People’ which was shown in Hannover, Calgary, Ottawa, Los Angeles, Manchester and Assen. An innovative design can be seen in the detailed furnishing and decoration of an 18th century house in Assen (part of the Drents Museum).

By means of multimedia techniques it was made possible to allow visitors to select one of the original inhabitants of the house as their personal guide. In total, there are six guides who, each from their own social position, give their personal opinion on the house and its running.
